Thea Tote Bag PDF Sewing Pattern (FREE)

Thea Tote Bag is the perfect bag to bring to school, work, picnics, grocery store, shopping runs - you name it. She measures 39,5 cm (15,5”) high, 35,5 cm (14”) wide and 10 cm (4”) deep. Thea has four pockets on the outside. Choose to make her out of a solid color or different fabrics and colors to add some fun interesting details.

Fabric

Make the bag out of duck canvas, canvas, denim, corduroy, leather or medium to heavy weight cotton. Basically, any medium to heavy weight woven, non-stretch fabric will work.
The white and blue sample is made from duck canvas for the bag’s body and canvas for the pockets.
The white and grey/brown sample is made from denim for the bag’s body and faux suede for the pockets.

Listed below is the fabric requirement for each pattern piece. The bag and pocket pattern have a width of 47,5 cm (19”) and the strap pattern has a width of 5 cm (2”). This will help you determine how much fabric you need depending on your choice and width of fabric.
Bag: 60 cm/ 24“
Pockets: 40 cm/ 16”
Straps: 75 cm/ 29.5”

Notions

• Matching thread.
• Optional: bias binding for finishing the seams. You will need 1,5 m (1,7 yd) of 4 cm (1 1/2”) width bias binding.
• Optional: swap out the fabric straps for leather straps or webbing. Use the same length as the strap pattern requires.
